So, Is The Snow Gone Yet?

The actual title should be, "Are your streets passable yet?"

As I drive around the City and in particular the Southwest and South End, I still see how bad the streets are. How is it that many weeks after the monster snowstorms, there are streets still not wide enough to manuever intersections or pass?

Send your stories and share how you dealt with the traffic nightmares in Hartford.

The Day After - Elections in Hartford & Connecticut 2010

Well, the voters have spoken. The democratic process worked. Or did it?

For a variety of reasons, this election was destined to be exciting and energizing. New faces and ideas, the national dissatisfaction with the current administration and the hope that electing new blood would turn the economy around and people would be able to find jobs.

However, it turned out to be a huge disappointment, especially in the City of Hartford. There were races that went unopposed and an incumbent State Rep that a day before the election was terminated from his job as a Hartford Police officer, added to the mess that is Hartford politics.

Can Hartford voters really be happy with their current situation? High unemployment, a bad economy, and high taxes don’t sound like a good thing to me.

I at least have the satisfaction that I added my name to one of the races that were unopposed and gave voters another choice.

Perhaps next time the citizens of Hartford will break from tradition and make the real changes that need to be made.

As far as the Connecticut political scene, I truly believe the voters have lost their mind. I ask the question again, are people really happy with the current situation?

To add insult to injury, the mess in Bridgeport is unbelievable. You can’t make this stuff up. How can the powers that be not prepare for one of the biggest elections in recent memory? If the “after hours” voting is allowed to be accepted, then it is a sad day for Connecticut. The opportunity for fraud is so apparent, it boggles the mind.

In closing, the whole election day experience was so dirty, I had to take a long, long shower to cleanse myself from even being near it, let alone in it. After that I cleaned the toilet, although it wasn’t as dirty as politics in Hartford and Connecticut.
