Hartford Election Season Starts Soon, So Who Are The Players?


November will be here before you know it. This year the field of candidates for office in Hartford is a very wide field. Some names are not on the ballot, but there are plenty of new names.

Through the grapevine, The Hartford Times / myHartfordTimes.com is hearing the following names so far:
Pedro Segarra - Mayor
Edwin Vargas - Mayor
Stan McCauley - Mayor
Shawn Wooden - Mayor
Mike McGarry - Mayor

Kevin Brookman - Council
Larry Deutsch - Council
Luis Cotto - Council
rJo Winch - Council
Alex Aponte - Council
Ken Kennedy - Council
Gerry Pleasent - Council

Sweets Wilson - Council

So, Is The Snow Gone Yet?

The actual title should be, "Are your streets passable yet?"

As I drive around the City and in particular the Southwest and South End, I still see how bad the streets are. How is it that many weeks after the monster snowstorms, there are streets still not wide enough to manuever intersections or pass?

State Rep. Hector Robles Arrested

It has been reported this afternoon that current Democrat State Representative Hector Robles has been arrested. Robles was fired from his job as a Hartford Police Officer a day before the election last November. The firing came as a result of an internal investigation surrounding falsifying time cards.
